Helping Children
For every child who’s adopted, thousands still
live in institutions or with families who can’t provide for
their basic needs. WACAP is committed to helping as many of
these children as we can. Since 1976, we’ve supplied
vitamins, health care, medical supplies, toys, clothing and
education to more than 200,000 children. We work with other
organizations that are dedicated to children’s welfare.
Currently, we support ongoing child assistance projects in
eight countries: the
United
States,
China,
Romania,
Russia,
Thailand,
Vietnam,
Korea
and
India.
Reaching out to children orphaned by AIDS
We continue to look for opportunities to help children. And
right now, some of the world’s neediest children are in
sub-Saharan Africa, where HIV/AIDS has made orphans out of
more than 13 million children. That number is expected to
double by 2010. Currently, we’re exploring how we might help
provide families for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in
Africa.
Our work in
Thailand
supports some of that country's 250,000 AIDS orphans.
What You Can Do
Here’s how you can help WACAP help children:
Donate money
You can give to support WACAP’s child assistance projects in
one of two ways:
Online payments are processed
through PayPal.
Donate supplies
We accept
contributions of clothing, toys and other supplies. Each
year, we send more than three tons of humanitarian aid to
needy children and families around the world—and to save
shipping costs, most of it is carried with WACAP staff
members or adopting families when they travel to bring home
their children.
Send donations of supplies to WACAP at 315 S. Second Street,
Renton, WA 98057.
